Thinker Maker Space of CYENS is a multifunctional creative space for Rapid Prototyping, Digital Fabrication, Electronics, Machining workstations and Mix-R Equipment, that provides cutting–edge equipment and hands-on expertise to assist creative and cultural industries, encourage technology led innovation, support entrepreneurship and to inspire skill-based creativity.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM

There is one (1) paid Internship slot for full-time engagement (Monday – Friday). Applicants must be available for a period of 6 months.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Applicants must be able to work in CYENS’ premises in Nicosia
  • Undergraduate students (BA, BSc);
  • Post-Graduate students (MA, MSc and PhD);
  • Early career individuals (who have graduated from university within the two years) or any other individual with relevant background
  • Good knowledge of Greek and English
  • Pleasant personality
  • For non-EU applicants an entry visa and/or work permit may be required
Media Desk Administrator

The successful candidate will be assisting the Thinker Maker Space team at the Media Desk and assisting members and visitors for everyday tasks such as aiding members in the use of equipment along with monitoring the TMS booking and lending Portal.

Required Skills
  • Educated to degree level in any relevant field of Visual Arts or Design.
  • Manage bookings and lending system.
  • Social media enthusiast.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and research skills.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of a makerspace operation.
  • Good video and photo editing & montage skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • PC and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Language requirements: Excellent written and oral English-language skills will be required.
  • Consistent with deadlines.
  • Problem solving & multitasking.
Internship Objectives
  • Lending Equipment
  • Presenting Media Desk capabilities to members and visitors
  • Aiding members in the use and set up of the Media Desk equipment. Particularly 3D scanning and photogrammetry.
  • Maintenance and charges of equipment returned.
  • Assist TMS with weekly social media posting.
  • Might need to assist TMS technicians in everyday smaller tasks.
