HKASON’s practice centers on the shifting dynamics between body and space, exploring how these relations can be transferred, reversed, and reimagined. His recent work investigates the liberation of the body’s physical boundaries into layered materialities and movements, emerging on fluid flows that arise at the edges and contact points between body and environment. Working through the themes of correction, optimization, synchronization, and generation, HKASON examines how unfamiliar objects adapt to their surroundings, achieve stability, and intertwine with instinctive senses and the body’s homeostasis. By locating points where the materiality of surfaces transforms beyond the simple act of covering or wearing, he pursues the flexible ambivalence of media, their encounters, and the transitions they provoke. Recently, he has participated in exhibitions including his solo show Gametophyte (2023), and group shows Poetic Forensic (Sewon Hall, 2025), Mirror and Cloak (Platform L, 2024), Lab Coming Day (Art Korea Lab, 2023), and Art Science (National Busan Science Center, 2022).

The residency is supported by the Department of Contemporary Culture – Deputy Ministry of Culture in Cyprus, as part of WIP LAB 2025 organized by CYENS Centre of Excellence.
