What we have left is a project that was developed by Florenza Deniz İncirli as part of her residency at Thinker Maker Space.
What we have left (I and II) are an homage to the haunting scenes of decay and slow violence caused by Cyprus Mines Corporation. Focussing on the region of Lefke, the works explore the changing relationships we have with technology. wwhl I, is a silent film exploring a graveyard of technology, the structures of the CMC mines, trains and ecological disaster caused by the mining woven together with text. what we have left II, a soundscape created to amplify the alienating and often non-natural sounds of technology, recorded on the fieldsite at Lefke, and mixed with sounds recorded at the Thinker Maker Space.
