This project explores how AI and social media are transforming the creative profession, particularly for artists. With the rapid evolution of AI technology, there are growing concerns about how these tools could replace traditional artistic roles, raising significant ethical questions about the future of creativity. Through the character Agnes_GoesMeta, the project aims to investigate how artists can navigate these challenges while leveraging AI and social media as tools for creativity. The goal is to create a comprehensive knowledge database on AI in creative processes.
The first phase focuses on research and concept development, delving into AI tools and their potential impact on creative work. I begin by researching AI, attending online courses, doing interviews and experimenting with TikTok content creation through Agnes_GoesMeta character, blending personal storytelling with insights into how AI tools can assist the artistic process. This phase also explores the ethical implications of AI replacing human creativity, serving as the foundationfor both the knowledge database and the larger project.
Next, the project will move into testing and refining AI tools, producing TikTok videos that highlight not only the benefits of AI in content creation but also the risks and ethical concerns it presents. The content will dive into the tension between human artists and AI tools, examining issues like creative authenticity and the potential for AI to replace traditional roles. The knowledge gained during this phase will be used to further refine the AI database, creating a valuable resourcefor other artists navigating the digital age.
Following this, the project will expand to workshops with a YouTube frame, where I will host educational sessions that explore both the technical and ethical dimensions of AI in content creation. These sessions will include live demonstrations of AI tools, alongside discussions of their impact on the creative industries. By engaging with a live audience, both in the studio and online, the project will gain valuable feedback to improve the educational content and address key concerns raised by the community. This YouTube expansion will serve as a bridge between the digital content I create and the final physical performance and exhibition.
The fourth phase of the project involves preparing for a live performance with a digital exhibition titled AI & I: The Artist, the Algorithm, and the Audience. This exhibition will showcase the digital content created during the TikTok and workshop phases, transforming it into an immersive, in-person experience. The exhibition will explore the dynamic relationship between AI tools and human creativity, addressing both the potential and the ethical challenges posed by AI’s growing presence in the arts. This performance with the exhibition will allow audiences to engage with the project’s core themesin a tangible way, merging the digital and physical world.
